The Pastor The Rev. J. H. Lindsay Johnstone MA (Theol)(Aust Coll Theol) , BD (Hons) (London), BA (Hons) (Sydney) has been Rector of St. Luke's Clovelly since 1984, and was also Area Dean of Randwick from 1996 until March 2008. In connection with his ministry as Rector of Clovelly, he was appointed by the Archbishop of Sydney and Anglicare as part-time Anglican Chaplain at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, as from mid-January 2006. In that connection he has been undertaking courses in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). He also is involved in chaplaincy volunteer mentoring at RPAH, and is currently the Coordinator of the Chaplaincy Department at RPA. Before coming to St. Luke's he was Adult Education Officer with the Sydney Anglican Board of Education, and prior to that spent three years with his family in Tanzania (with CMS Australia), where he was a lecturer at St. Philip's Theological college, Kongwa. He had been previously in parish ministry in Sans Souci and Darling Point, Sydney. Before ordination he was History Master at St. Andrew's Cathedral School. He was an NCO in the Citizen Military Forces for three years, is now actively involved with the Clovelly RSL Sub-Branch. His wife, Maria, has been with him in the ministry for over thirty-five years, prior to which she served with CMS as a missionary on Groote Eylandt. Maria was a publications administrator at the AGSM in the University of NSW, and has now retired from that position. Lindsay and Maria have three adult children, two of whom are married, and they have one grandson. In mid 2005 they spent a month touring England, Scotland, Wales and the Irish Republic.
