Jesus has now become your friend and like all friends you need to talk to him and learn more about him. Prayer is simply talking to God. As you talk to him he will respond to you through the still quiet voice of the Holy Spirit who came to dwell in you at the moment you gave your life to Christ.

The Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6: 9-13 gives a helpful guide.

Praise God.

Seek God's will in the world and in your life.

Pray about your own needs: physical, material, Spiritual, social.

Pray for other people.

Repentance and Forgiveness.

Ask for forgiveness for your own sins.

Speak out (to God) your forgiveness of those who have sinned against you.

Ask for help to keep out of sin, to be able to resist temptation.

Seek God's protection from evil: physical safety and protection from demonic attack.

There are many prayers that you will discover in the Bible, And much teaching on how to pray, and what to pray for.

There is also a spiritual gift you can receive from God that enables you to pray in an unknown language, especially in your private prayers. This strengthens us, because it is not only our mind that prays, but also our innermost being.
