Every new believer receives an indwelling of the Holy Spirit who makes you a child of God and gives you a foretaste of heaven.

The Holy Spirit is God, the Third person of the trinity and He is eternal.

Counsellor
Encourager
Teacher

The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin.

He helps us to live like Christ and imparts into us natural talents and abilities as well as supernatural gifts, so that we can serve God and other people. God calls all believers to ask him to keep filling us with the Holy Spirit.

Some Bible Teaching on the Holy Spirit

He is the third Person of the Trinity.
Matthew 28: 20, 2 Corinthians 13: 13

The Holy Spirit lives within every born again person.
He is your friend. He "baptised" you into relationship with Christ. Romans 8: 9, 14-17, John 13: 6-8, 1 Corinthians 12: 13

You now belong to God's family, and are a fellow-heir with Christ. Romans 8: 17

The Holy Spirit convinces believers that they now belong to God and are eternally saved. Ephesians 1: 13-14

He gives you a foretaste of Heaven, fellowship with God, some of the "power of the age to come", some measure of healing in this life. Ephesians 1: 14

The Holy Spirit will impart Christ's love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, self-control. Galatians 5: 22-23, 1 Corithians 13

The Holy Spirit gives us natural talents and abilities such as teaching, administration, mercy, encouragement, exceeding generosity, etc. Romans 12: 3-13

The Holy Spirit also imaprts supernatural gifts to serve God and help others.
Supernatural knowledge, healing, miracles, discernment of spirits, prophecy, ability to pray in tongues, to interpret tongues. 1 Corinthians 12 and 14

The Holy Spirit Encourages.
He helps in our prayers (Romans 8). He helps us when discouraged. He gives us boldness. John 14: 15-21 and John 16: 5-15;,Acts 4: 31

Keep being filled with the Spirit!
Let Christ's Word control your life and give you intimacy with the loving Father. Ephesians 5: 18-19
