Praying into the wells of blessing

Prime Minister Alfred Deakin prayed for the Nation in the following terms: "God preserve this people and grant its leaders unselfish fidelity and courage to face all the trials for the sake of brotherhood. Thy blessing has rested upon us and we pray that it may be the means of creating and fostering throughout all Australia a Christlike citizenship."

One of the prayers offered at Federation included: "We pray Thee at this time you vouchsafe Thy special blessings upon the Federal Parliament now assembling for the first session, and that Thou wouldst be pleased to direct and prosper all their consultations to the advancement of Thy glory and to the true welfare of the people of Australia, through Jesus Christ our Lord…Amen."

Week 1: Dealing with the Past.
Pre-Election Intercession

Let us dig into these inherent wells of blessing for our Nation at this crucial time. Let us ask God to re-establish, during the forth-coming elections, that which He established in the past, and which in large measure we have lost through sin.

Day 1 The Godly Roots of our Constitution – A blessed Heritage lost through apathy. Ps 33:12

Day 2 A Heritage of Godly Justice which we have allowed through apathy to be undermined by the deception of a tolerant and progressive spirit. Duet 16:20

Day 3 The Pioneering Spirit – A persevering, courageous, selfless Pioneering spirit lost to mammon. Romans 5:3&4

Day 4 The Anzac Spirit. Let us ask God to re-establish the characteristics of the Anzac Spirit of Patriotism, selfsacrifice, inter-dependence and integrity, no matter what ethnic background we come from. Hebrews 10:32-34

Day 5 The Lucky Country – a diverse and rich country, that we have undervalued and allowed to be devalued for profit, and sold off without thought, for a bowl of pottage. Isaiah 1:7

Day 6 The Land of Milk and Honey. We have failed to protect our rural industry. This has resulted in the defilement of the land. Hosea 4:1-4 Hosea 5:15

Day 7 A Blessed and Diverse Christian people that God had kept hidden for centuries, nurtured as a Nation under Almighty God but now given over to the worship of many gods. 1 Cor 16:13.

Week 2: Praying God’s Redemptive Plan into the Government It is time to take up our Godly heritage, which for so long has been buried, sold, or stolen from us because we did not guard it properly or hold it in high esteem. We must repent for allowing this to happen.

Day 1 Immigration Policies. That they would line up with the heart of God, to bring the people that God wants to into this nation to touch and use for the Nations. The policy need to re- establish that this is a Christian Country, that allows freedom of religion. Lev 19:33-34, Acts 10:34-35

Day 2 Foreign Policy. That we would take a Godly stand with wisdom and not compromise in all of our dealings with the Nations; Calling forth Godly response in the Nations.1 Kings 5:12, 1 Kings 10:6

Day 3 Education Policy. That God will be re-established into the education system. Psalm 78:4-8

Day 4 Health Policy. Wisdom to know how to fund and to bring back Godly balance into the health system, so that… equal treatment are available to all. James 3:13-17, James 1:5&6

Day 5 Judicial Policies. Re-establishing godly justice. Bringing balance between mercy and justice, and wisdom for all who judge. Psalm 7:6, Psalm 106:3, Proverbs 17:26

Day 6 Treasury and Financial Policies. Pray that the Lord will restore Fair Trading within our Nation instead of the spirit of mammon, which rules today. Pray that He will re-establish integrity and generosity. Deut 25:13-15 Luke 6:38

Day 7 Reconciliation Policies. Pray that the Lord will move upon the leadership of the Nation, and have them pick up the move of the people to be reconciled with our indigenous brothers and sisters. Pray also that, through the leading of those in public office there will be reconciliation of ethnic groups within our nation. Matt 5:24, Romans 9:25-26, Psalm 133:1-3
