America Under Attack

In the hours since the attack upon New York, Washington, and by inference the whole nation of America and the free world, I have been contacted by many people wanting to respond in whatever way would be helpful.

At a time like this there is only one response that we can meaningfully make and that is to cry out to God for the families of those whose lives have been lost in this terrible attack and for wisdom to be given to President Bush and other world leaders as they endeavour to come to terms with, and respond to, the impact of what has occurred.

We must see the events of the past day against the backdrop of the prophetic words that have recently been spoken, warning Australia of pending upheavals and unprecedented shaking with the call to His Church to pray as never before for our own nation.

We urge all praying Australians to set aside the days ahead to seek the face of God for the world in which we live and for our own nation of Australia especially that we may not fall into the hands of enemy attack through indifference or apathy. We urge prayer groups and Churches to organise special prayer meetings and for individuals to set aside extra time for personal prayer at this unprecedented time of crisis.

One call that I have had was from an Intercessor who attended a prayer meeting last night prior to the news breaking of the terrorist attack. The scripture was brought from Hosea 8 with verses 1 & 14 particularly highlighted. It was not until they returned home that the full impact of those verses struck home. May God grant us understanding of what the events of the past 12 hours mean for us all.
